Participating in the exercise? Stay vigilant and report!

The Norwegian Armed Forces Security Department encourages security reporting during Exercise Cold Response 2026.

Exercise Cold Response 2026 is of significant interest to foreign intelligence services and potential sabotage actors. The Norwegian Armed Forces Security Department urges all participants to report any suspicious activity to ensure the protection of our assets, capabilities, and operational methods. If you are unsure whether to report – report it.

Security-threatening activities should be reported in accordance with established solutions and procedures.

Non-Norwegian exercise participants should report to their nearest commanding officer or military superior.

The Norwegian Armed Forces Security Department requests that all reports be as detailed as possible.

Reports should include the following information:

  • Who was involved: Provide details of all individuals involved, including name, personal number and/or description. Describe vehicles or vessels in as much detail as possible, including shape, colour, distinguishing features, registration numbers, etc.
  • What happened?
  • Where did it occur?
  • When did it occur?
  • Which Armed Forces assets, areas, equipment, or interests may have been affected?
  • How did the incident unfold? Describe the sequence of events in chronological order if possible.
  • What countermeasures have been implemented?
  • Who can be contacted for further information?
