Commander Bateman visited the NJHQ
This Thursday, the Standing Joint Force Commander (SJFC), Major General Thomas Bateman, visited the Norwegian Joint Headquarters (NJHQ) and Commander NJHQ, Vice Admiral Rune Andersen.
Bateman is also the Commander of Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), which is a multinational force of ten countries, led by the United Kingdom.

“This visit has given us great insights into Norway’s thinking and planning in the High North. I look forward to continuing our collective contributions to the JEF and embracing our operational relationship”, Bateman said during his visit.
JEF is a tangible force that complements and supports NATO if a situation should escalate.
“The United Kingdom is Norway's most important ally in Europe. Today, we took the opportunity to discuss our common security challenges and how we will continue to work together to promote security for our countries and the alliance”, NJHQ Commander Rune Andersen said.
