NATO in the North Course 2-2026
From 08-10 September NATO Centre of Excellence Cold Weather Operations (COE-CWO), together with Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies, jointly delivered the course "NATO in the North".
The course aimed to strengthen NATO's ability to address emerging Arctic threats by combining strategic NATO frameworks with operational cold weather expertise.
"NATO in the North" gathered 77 mid- to senior-level military and security professionals from 11 nations, including NATO Allies and partners.
The course had several high-level military guest speakers including the previous SACEUR (2022-2025).
The course enhanced interoperability, built relationships, and developed Arctic-minded leadership across NATO. Participants benefited from expert panels, interactive breakout discussions, and multinational networking. COE-CWO’s contribution ensured operational relevance and regional expertise, reinforcing the transatlantic perspective.
The next iteration of the course will be conducted in April 2027.
