Cybersecurity Accessibility and Inclusivity Research Group (CAIRG)
Vision:
Cyber security practices and solutions accessible to all users and inclusively designed.
Mission:
To create new scientific knowledge that can be utilized by service providers and the public in the development of accessible cyber security protocols, guidelines, and innovation designs to benefit society.
Goals:
To examine users’ interactions with cyber security and authentication from different user group perspectives. Different user groups can include: users with disabilities (cognitive, sensory and physical impairments), elderly users, children (at different development stages), users from different nationalities, racial, cultural, socio-economic, and religious groups.
To understand whether and how the cyber security industry is limiting or failing users of different user groups.
To find ways in which to improve the lives of users through increasing the usability and security of cyber security solutions (e.g., authentication methods), for those specifically from different user groups.
To understand how and if different user groups are more vulnerable to different cyber threats/crimes/harm, and if they are at more risk than other user groups.
