Security in Asia Program
The new “Security in Asia” research program is led by professor Øystein Tunsjø at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies. The following sub-projects is a part of the program:
- The new superpower rivalry between the U.S. and China
- China’s hybrid and coercive activities
- China’s “Belt and Road”-initiative (BRI), and particularly China’s interest for the Arctic and partnership with Russia
- The interaction between China, Russia, India, Japan, and the U.S., and regional conflicts in Asia
- China’s military development, regional rearmament, and maritime security
- NATO-China: How does the U.S.-China rivalry and military developments in East-Asia affect the NATO alliance.
