The Russian Way of Regular Land Warfare: A Comparative Case-Study of Three Major Russian Operations after the Cold War
This PhD project aims to provide a comprehensive description of the Russian "way of regular land warfare" following the Cold War era. The objective will be accomplished through a comparative analysis, comparing a conceptualisation of the Soviet "way of regular land warfare" in the 1980s with four case studies of Russian operations.
These case studies include the 2008 war in Georgia, the 2014 invasion of Crimea, the 2014 intervention in Donbas, and the 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The primary focus of this study is conventional operations at the tactical and operational levels of warfare.
