This project examines the so-called Youth Army (Yunarmiya), Russia's largest military-patriotic youth movement. The Project seeks to answer four related research questions:

1.    What is the modus operandi of Yunarmiya in Russia and abroad?

2.    What various objectives and political agendas underpin the organization?

3.    To what degree is the organization capable to fulfil these objectives?

4.    What are the implications of questions 1, 2 and 3 for Norwegian security

Beyond public and academic discussions and analysis, the project will scrutinize both the legal foundation for the organization, as well as the documentation of its activities and political connections home and abroad. Fieldwork will be conducted if the situation allows for it.
