Stig Berg

Stig Berg has extensive experience from positions within the Royal Norwegian Navy and the Norwegian Defence Staff. 

He began his military career in 1994 and graduated from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy, Operational Naval Studies, in 1998. 

His primary area of specialization has been Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), in which he has many years of experience, both from service aboard frigates and at the Royal Norwegian Navy Training and Education Centre, KNM Tordenskjold. 

In addition to his operational service, he has served as Head of Future Operations (N-3/5) at the Norwegian Naval Maritime Operations Centre. He has also served as Head of the Training Division, with responsibility for the training and evaluation of the Royal Norwegian Navy's frigates and logistic support vessels. 

He has served in the Norwegian Defence Staff, where his responsibilities included maritime operations within Norway's areas of interest, as well as coordinating and following up the Norwegian Defence contribution in support of Ukraine. 

Stig Berg served for three years as Deputy National Representative at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), NATO's military strategic headquarters. 

He currently serves as Lecturer in Joint Operations at the Norwegian Defence University College/Norwegian Armed Forces Staff College.
