Lene Ekhaugen
Lene Ekhaugen holds a cand. polit. degree (2005) and a Ph.D. (2021) in political science from the University of Oslo. She has worked at IFS since 2006. Previously, Ekhaugen was head of the Centre for Civil-Military Relations (2012–2015) and a visiting student researcher at the Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research (SCANCOR) at Stanford University (fall quarter 2016). She wrote her doctoral thesis on the coordination of national efforts in international operations.
Ekhaugen is head of the Veterans and veteran policies research programme (IFS’ Veteran programme) and is currently working on a research project on solider, veteran and family support and care before, during and after deployment to international operations. She is also involved in a project on Norway's participation in the UN operation in Egypt, 1956–1967.
Ekhaugen is responsible for the bachelor's course MILM1111 The military profession, society and war (2022–).
