Birgitte Grande
Language Advisor Birgitte Grande holds two Master’s degrees: one in English Literature from the University of Oslo (1998), and one in Language Testing from Lancaster University (2015).
A former teacher of military English, Grande has since 2012 been based at the Norwegian Defence University College in Oslo, responsible for testing English proficiency in accordance with NATO Standardization Agreement 6001 in the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Grande is Norwegian Head of Delegation to the Bureau for International Language Coordination (BILC) - NATO’s advisory body on questions concerning language training and language testing - and represents Norway in NORDEFCO Working Group Languages.
Grande’s main research interests include oral proficiency testing and assessment, validation of language test development, and testing English for specific purposes (ESP).
