Fabian Rene Hoffmann

Fabian Hoffmann is a senior researcher at the Programme for Ukraine and Full-Spectrum Threats. He recently submitted his PhD dissertation at the University of Oslo, examining the strategic-level effects of conventional long-range strike weapons and their implications for conventional and nuclear deterrence. 

His research focuses on missile technology, nuclear strategy, and European defense. He has published widely on these topics, including in academic journals, scientific reports, and op-eds for newspapers and magazines. He is also the author of the "Missile Matters" Substack blog, a publication that reaches over 50,000 readers monthly, where he provides timely expert analysis of missile technology-related events worldwide. 

Fabian Hoffmann is regularly invited to contribute his expertise to national and international news media, appearing both in print and on television. Among others, his commentary has been featured on CNN, Reuters, New York Times, Financial Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal. 

He is also a Non-Resident Fellow with the Transatlantic Defense and Security Program at the Center for European Policy Analysis. 

Fabian Hoffmann holds a Master's degree in War Studies from King's College London, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.
