Johannes Kibsgaard
Johannes Kibsgaard (b. 1980) currently serves at NDUC/Norwegian Defence Command and Staff College, as a head teacher at the Department for Military Strategy and Joint Operations. He is also a PhD student at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Bergen, researching multinational military leadership.
Kibsgaard's professional military education started at the Norwegian Artillery Non-Commissioned Officer School (BSFA) in 2000. Later he graduated from the Norwegian Military Academy (Krigsskolen) in 2004, achieving a commission as an officer, and he holds a bachelor's degree in military studies. He later earned a postgraduate degree in management at BI Norwegian Business School (2019). He has also completed a series of independent course studies at the postgraduate level at BI Norwegian Business School, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), OsloMet, and the Norwegian Command and Staff College, focusing on leadership, security issues, and teaching.
Kibsgaard has a range of operational experience from armor, artillery and infantry units in the Norwegian army. Moreover, he has served as aide-de-camp for the Chief of the Norwegian Army in the Norwegian Army Staff, as well as revisiting the Norwegian Army Non-Commissioned Officer School (HBS) – this time as a company commander. He has also served a number of years as head teacher at the Norwegian Military Academy, in the fields of leadership, pedagogics, and tactics.
Kibsgaard participated in the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in 2011/12.
