
Frode Liland
Frode Liland (born 1965) holds a cand. philol. degree with a major in history from the University of Oslo 1992. From 1992 to 2002, he worked as a researcher in contemporary history at the Norwegian Nobel Institute, the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies, and the University of Oslo.
In 2002, he became office manager at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies, and in 2005, he became a senior advisor at the same institute, responsible for R&D administration and leadership support. In 2012, he became section manager for the Section for Education and R&D at the Norwegian Defence University College. From 2015 to 2017, Liland was project manager for “Education in the Armed Forces” before becoming a strategic advisor to the head of the Norwegian Defense University College until 2018.
From 2018 to the present, he has worked at IFS, since 2021 as deputy director.
