Magnus Stakkestad (b. 1999) is a master’s researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Defense Studies, and a master’s student in political science at the University of Oslo. Stakkestad is currently writing his master’s thesis on the EUs vulnerability associated with being dependent on third countries for the supply of critical raw materials and the addressing of this issue. The working title is: “Dependency on the agenda: The European Union’s collective securitization of critical raw materials”. 

Stakkestad has a bachelor’s degree in comparative politics from the University of Bergen. He has also taken the graduate level summer program “Global Entrepreneurship” at Boston University. Earlier work experience includes being a trainee at the Norwegian Contact office for Research, Innovation and Education in Brussels and the Mission of Norway to the EU, as well as part time work for the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise.
