Captain Markus Z. Widborg is a course director at the Norwegian Defence University College's International section (NODEFIC) seconded by the Swedish Armed Forces, based in Oslo, Norway 

Prior to his secondment to NODEFIC, Capt. Widborg worked at the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters C4ISR department with issues relating to Electronic Warfare (EW) and Intelligence. 

Capt. Widborg has served both nationally and internationally within EW and Intelligence with his latest international deployment being to Afghanistan in 2012. He has further been the Information Management Officer for the civilian dimension of multi-national exercises VIKING 11, 14 and 18. He has also worked with the Swedish Social Security Agency, creating database models for identifying fraud within the Social Security System of Sweden. 

Capt. Widborg holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Stockholm University, with previous studies at the Stockholm School of Economics and the Swedish National Defence University. 

Capt. Widborg holds his position at NODEFIC since 2021 and has previously lectured at the Folke Bernadotte Academy’s Information & Intelligence Cooperation in Multifunctional International Operations (IIC) Course from 2011 to 2017. Markus also served as one of the Swedish Armed Forces principal instructors on IBM i2 Analysts’s Workstation.
