Jo Inge Bekkevold

Jo Inge Bekkevold (b. 1968) has a cand.polit. with major in political science from the University of Oslo (2001). He studied international relations at Peking University, 1994–1996 and joined the Norwegian Foreign Service in 1999. Bekkevold was political officer with Norway's embassy in Hanoi 2001–2005. He was also political officer, later counsellor/minister counsellor, with Norway's embassy in Beijing, 2005–2011. 

Bekkevold is the coordinator of the international workshop series International Order at Sea, and took part in AsiArctic, a project on Asian countries interests and policies in the Arctic, funded by the Norwegian Research Council. 

He is currently working on research projects on Chinese geopolitics and China's relations with Russia and India.
