Magnus (b. 1983) MA in history, University of Oslo, spring 2010. Ph.d. in history, University of Oslo, 2025.
At IFS, Dr Håkenstad has since 2010 taken part in several projects on topics such as the history of the Ministry of Defence, long-term defence planning, total defence and crisis management; and the post-cold war reforms of the Norwegian military. In 2025, he successfully defended his dissertation on Military aid to the police in Norway, 1970–2020.
He is currently attached to a research project on Norwegian Security policy.
