9 June – Ørland Air Force Base (Ramstein Flag 26)

The Norwegian Armed Forces invite media representatives to attend a media event at Ørland Air Force Base in connection with exercise Ramstein Flag 2026.

Ramstein Flag 2026

Exercise Ramstein Flag 2026 is NATO’s largest air exercise. The exercise involves 19 nations, more than 150 aircraft and over 15 operating locations stretching from Norway to Spain. Around 150 sorties flown each day, with fighter aircraft, AWACS, RQ-4D surveillance systems and air defence assets. All training together in realistic scenarios.

The event 9th of June will provide insight into air operations and allied activities conducted from Ørland, including contributions from Norway, Belgium, Italy, Türkiye, Denmark.

Please note that all participants must go through a security clearance process upon arrival.

Programme (subject to change)

  • Briefing: Ørland Air Force Station and Ramstein Flag 2026
  • Static display: Norwegian F-35
  • Interviews: With detachment commanders and pilots from Norway and participating nations
  • Takeoffs: Norwegian F-35, Belgian F-16, Danish F-35, Italian F-35, Türkiye F-16. Photo/video opportunities around 50 meters from the runway.
  • Static display: Norwegian Air Defence (NASAMS) which is participating in the exercise. Interview opportunities with personell from the Norwegian Air Defence.

The media event is expected to conclude at approximately 16:00.

  • The programme is subject to change due to operational requirements.
  • Foreign journalists must bring a valid passport for identification.
  • Norwegian journalists must bring a valid driver’s licence or equivalent national ID.
