Arctic Dolphin 2022 er i gang

I de neste to ukene kommer norske og allierte styrker til å samtrene i Bergensområdet i forbindelse med øvelse Arctic Dolphin 2022 (TG 22-1).

Øvelsen vil vedvare i uke 6 og 7, fra 7. til 18. februar. Fredag den 4. februar ankommer flere utenlandske fartøy til Bergen. De vil ligge til havn fra 5. til 6. februar. 

I forbindelse med øvelsen forventes det økt militær aktivitet på, under og over overflaten på Vestlandet i det aktuelle tidsrommet.

Målet med øvelsen

Øvelsen er en arena for sjefselevkurs på ubåt. Den vil fokusere på antiubåtkrigføring i krevende forhold langs kysten og på land, og legge til rette for å integrere en multinasjonal styrke med teknikker, taktikk og prosedyre. Det vil også foregå samarbeid mellom enheter på lavere taktisk nivå.

Øvelsen er viktig for at våre allierte enheter skal kunne øve i de krevende forholdene som finnes i Norge. Det er også kritisk for sjefselever å kunne øve med allierte styrker i nevnte forhold.

Arctic Dolphin 2022 has started

For the next two weeks Norwegian and allied forces will train together in the Bergen area. Arctic Dolphin 2022 is an exercise for chief candidates  on submarines.

The intention of the exercise

The focus of the exercise will be on anti-submarine warfare in demanding conditions outside the coast and on land, to secure integration of a multinational force with techniques, tactics and procedure.

This exercise is important to ensure the ability of our allies to train in the demanding Norwegian conditions. It is also crucial for the chief candidates to exercise with allies in these conditions.

Fakta om Arctic Dolphin 2022

  • Deltagende nasjonale fartøy er: Fregatten KNM Thor Heyerdahl, ubåten KNM Uredd, støttefartøyet KNM Sleipner og minefartøyet KNM Otra.
  • Allierte fartøy som deltar er: Fregattene FGS Berlin (flaggskipet i SNMG1), HNLMS Van Amstel, HDMS Peter WIllemoes, HDMS Triton, samt forsyningsfartøyet FGS Main og ubåtene FGS U-32, HNLMS Zeeleeuw og HNMLS Dolfijn.
  • HNLMS Van Amstel, HDMS Peter WIllemoes og FGS Berlin er også en del av Natos stående maritime styrke, Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1).
  • Luftenheter som skal delta er helikopteret NH 90 og det maritime overvåkningsflyet P3C Orion.

  • Participating Norwegian vessels are: The frigate HNoMS Thor Heyerdahl, the submarine HNoMS Uredd, the support vessel HNoMS Sleipner and the minesweeper HNoMS Otra.
  • Participating allied vessels are: the frigates FGS Berlin (flagship in SNMG1), HNLMS Van Amstel, HDMS Peter Willemoes, HDMS Triton, the supply vessel FGS Main and the submarines FGS U-32, HNLMS Zeeleeuw and HNMLS Dolfijn.
  • HNLMS Van Amstel, HDMS Peter Willemoes and FGS Berlin are also part of Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG1).
  • A NH90-helicopter and the maritime surveillance aircraft P3C Orion will also participate.
