12 March: Arctic Health Preparedness Exercise

The Norwegian total defence will conduct its most complex exercise in health preparedness for war on 12 March in Ofoten and Tromsø during Cold Response 2026. Media is invited to cover the exercise.

On 12 March, during Cold Response 2026, the Norwegian total defence will conduct a major health preparedness exercise in Narvik, Fjelldal (between Harstad and Evenes), Tromsø, and through digital simulation.

The scenario

There have been fights in Finland with mass casualities. The wounded troops will be transported to Sweden and from there to Narvik by train. In Narvik, Norwegian health personnel will receive and treat the wounded troops and send them to hospitals in other parts of Norway and if needed abroad.
