This module aims at establishing the cadets' understanding of complex conflicts, and how the different character of conflicts influence the tactical level. Complex operations MILSIK is part of the existing module Complex operations and will follow the progress of this module.

The module will first focus on the one of the most common forms of low-intensity warfare: peacekeeping. You will study the role of peacekeeping in international relations, the origin and development of the concept, its principles and overall tactical approach. Robust peacekeeping and the specific challenges this concept entails will receive special attention. The last part will be conducted as a map exercise where you can apply you knowledge on military planning in the context of a peacekeeping operation.

The last part of the module focusses on the future development of warfare in general, and land power in particular. Part of this are new concepts, which paves the way for doctrinal developments. We also try to see how new and emerging technology might affect land warfare in the near future.

The module will be concluded with a field training exercise within the peacekeeping framework.

English is the working language of this module.

The subjects English and PT will run parallel with the course program and will have classes in each theoretical week.
