The course will give the cadets specific knowledge about their branch of service. The knowledge they acquire in the course shall be sufficient so that they can perform intended tasks in the role of officer within their branch in the Air Force. During the course, the cadets will learn to critically reflect on branch-specific factors in identifying areas of development that will contribute to increased combat capability.
Pilot and navigator training is conducted in the United States. Here, the cadets are specialised as either transport pilot, maritime pilot, helicopter pilot, combat pilot or navigator according to air type allocation from the Air Force.
Fighter pilot training is conducted at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas or at The Finish Air Force Academy in Tikkakoski, and has a duration of minimum thirteen months.
Helicoter traning is conducted at Fort Rucker in Alabama and has a duration of twelve months.
Transport and maritime pilot training and Tactical Coordinator training are conducted at Naval Air Station Pensacola and Naval Air Station Corpus Christie, and has a duration of twelve months.
