This topic will enable the cadet to plan and lead military land operations in the context of high-intensity warfare. Planning and conducting military operations is central to an officer. The course is based on the definition of tactics as the art and science in the use of military forces to win the battle. Tactics deals with what happens in connection with (before, during and after) the skirmish. This requires a conscious reasoning, and the officer must develop the ability to solve analytical problems. In the context of tactics, this is about analyzing a situation to identify and describe a tactical problem, and then arrive at a solution to this tactical problem.

The course is based on the cadets' basis from the first year at the Military Academy. In particular the teaching of the subjects MILM1105 Military Command and Soldier Skills, MILM1201 The basis of land power and MILM1202 Military problem solving and method are important for the course OPS2202 Combined arms opeartions.
