Additional Information
We invite the media to observe high-end Arctic amphibious operations by multiple Allied NATO nations. These operations are training events in support of Norwegian national exercise Nordic Response and the overarching NATO exercise Steadfast Defender.
You will witness hundreds of Allied marine forces traveling through the Kvænangen Fjord, from ITS Garibaldi and ITS San Giorgio to land on the shores of Norway. USS Gunston Hall will also be sending French, Finnish and Swedish forces to the Arctic Fjordcamp landing site simultaneously, which we will provide b-roll for.
Some of the vehicles these forces will be using include: Veicolo-Tattico-Leggero-Multiruolos (VTLMs) launched from landing craft mechanized (LCM) boats, assault amphibious vehicles (AAVs), rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs), Italian MH-101 helicopters, and Swedish Combat Boats (CB-90s).
Nations involved include Italy, the United States, Spain, France, Finland, and Sweden.
With the backdrop of the Norwegian fjords and the tremendous efforts of all the nations involved to execute such complex exercises, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to document and learn about these amphibious operations. Press attendees will be able to capture imagery and b-roll of amphibious operations, speak with some forces on the ground, and witness high-end amphibious operations in an Arctic environment.
