6 March: Total defence exercise with mass influx to hospital

During the exercise, patients from Bardufoss, including both Norwegian and allied military personnel, as well as civilians from Tromsø, will be evacuated to UNN Tromsø. This simulated mass influx of patients represents a complex and realistic test of our healthcare services and military preparedness capabilities.

The exercise will take place on 6 March 2024. Participants are Northern Norway Health Authority, Norwegian Armed Forces and other total defense stakeholders.

UK Clockwork, our allies from the United Kingdom, are expected to be involved with their helicopters, contributing to the realism and complexity of the exercise. Collaboration with international partners enhances our ability to handle crises and disasters.

The exercise is designed to test cooperation and coordination between different sectors of society, with a focus on healthcare and the military. The goal is to improve response capabilities, coordination, and communication among involved parties.

Media are invited to observe and report on the exercise, providing the public with insight into the ongoing efforts to strengthen our national defence and preparedness. We urge everyone to understand that this is a simulation and a crucial part of our ongoing preparation to handle various scenarios that may threaten our security.
