Emneside for ING2307 Matematiske metoder i praksis

Hva lærer du

Emnet skal utvikle videre matematisk modning, og gi god forståelse for matematisk verktøy og god innsikt i matematiske ideer som ligger til grunn for sentrale, praktiske anvendelser i tjenesten og ellers i ingeniørstudiet. Faglig innhold: rekker og følger, differensligninger, vektoranalyse, Fouriertransformasjon, Laplacetransformasjon.

    • has knowledge about the theory from selected topics in Fourier analysis
    • can understand the theory of the Laplace transform enough to be able to use engineering subjects during his/her service in the Navy
    • has knowledge about theories according to functions of several variables and vector functions/vector fields and how this is related to vector calculus
    • understands the theory of infinite series, power series and simple methods for solving difference equations

    Skills

    The cadet...

    • is able to apply the theory from selected topics in Fourier analysis and Laplace transform
    • is able to calculate within the topics of functions of several variables, vector functions/vector fields, the theory of infinite series, power series, and can apply simple methods for solving difference equations
    •  use problem solving and model building as a tool for solving tasks in his/her further service
    • identify relationships between mathematics and engineering applications and otherwise in his/her studies and analyse results from mathematical calculations
    • apply solution methods and implement mathematical reasoning

    • understand and use mathematical representations and formulate engineering problems in mathematical form
    • understand relationships between mathematics and engineering applications
    • analyse the grade of mathematical understanding that is necessary for serving in the Navy and keeping up to date professionally
    • use mathematics to communicate about engineering problems
    • understand that the level of precision in mathematical language makes it appropriate for structuring engineering problems and providing openings for solutions
  2. Det legges vekt på å bruke eksempler fra andre tekniske emner og fra tjeneste i Sjøforsvaret som illustrasjon. 

  3. Skriftlig skoleeksamen, 5 timer. Hjelpemidler; kalkulator og skolens formelsamling
