The aim of the course is to develop and strengthen future officers’ ability to lead air operations at unit level in an airwing. In particular related to safe and effective operations, the course will contribute to an increased understanding of how culture influences leadership in the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF). Thus, both safety culture and culture for learning is paramount. A special focus will be directed to the leader’s responsibility for a systematic approach to performance development - both as individuals and in relation to other team members. Furthermore, the course should increase the understanding of crisis management at a local airwing level. The English section of the course which will give the cadets insight into the use of rhetoric in a military context.

• Topic 1: The RNoAFs learning culture and performance
• Topic 2: Safety culture in operations
• Topic 3: Leadership in crisis
• Topic 4: English: Persuasion
